THE BBC is "evil" and biased against Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, his brother has said.

Piers Corbyn, has fired a broadside at the broadcaster, claiming it is out to get his politician sibling and determined to show him in a bad light.

Mr Corbyn, 70, who is two years older than his brother, also dismissed opinion polls showing Labour trailing in the election race, saying that they were failing to detect "shy Corbynistas" and under representing support for his brother.

He said: "The BBC is evil and they will carry on being evil. At every opportunity they criticise him [Jeremy]. The BBC have never been so biased against any party leader as now.

"That is because Jeremy stands for something different. Jeremy Corby stands against the global elitist establishment and the BBC past and present has been [part of that].

"Look at paedophilia and the cover-up of Jimmy Savile."

Mr Corbyn, an astrophysicist who runs a weather forecasting business, predicted that his brother would avoid traditional media and use the internet and alternative news outlets to get his message across.

He said that polling was failing to capture support for his brother, adding: "I think Jeremy can get a reasonable majority. The polls are biased. There are shy Corbynistas. The polls are absolutely under-representing him."

A BBC Spokesman said: "As everyone knows, we are an impartial and independent broadcaster."
