Police officers questioned a man outside the High Court in Glasgow yesterday as former Rangers FC owner Craig Whyte entered the premises.

Officers were seen questioning the man in a side street near the court where Mr Whyte was expected to attend the trial.

It is believed that Mr Whyte was the one who made the complaint to police after a man shouted something at him as he was about to enter court for yesterday's evidence.

Trial was subsequently adjourned until tomorrow, although it is understood that the police incident was completely unrelated as a jury member being ill was blamed for the adjournment.

Whyte faces two charges in connection with his 2011 takeover of Rangers.

He denies a fraud allegation and a second accusation under the Companies Act.

A spokesman said: "Around 9.45am police were called to an incident on Osbourne Street near the High Court. Inquiries are ongoing."
