Scotland's young players added to their second place in the team event at the Junior Quadrangular in Dublin with three titles in the individual events yesterday.

Michael Maguire defeated Neil Bhabuta to win the boys' singles 21-17, 14-21, 21-15. His win avenged team-mate Callum Smith's 21-15, 21-14 defeat by the England player in the semi-finals and Kenneth Cheung's 21-1,6 21-7 exit in the quarters.

Maguire had come through a tough semi-final with a 22-24, 21-11, 21-8 win over England's Alex Green.

Smith and Cheung made up for their singles defeats by teaming up to take the boys' doubles title with a 21-14, 21-13 win over Bhabuta and Green, who had beaten Maguire and Calum Flockhart 21-10, 21-23, 21-15 in the semi-finals.

And Smith claimed a second title in the mixed doubles when he and Alice Campbell defeated England's Joseph Ball and Lisa Curtin 17-21, 21-19, 21-17 after coming through an even closer semi-final against Green and Estelle van Leeuwen 17-21, 21-18, 22-20.

Campbell also reached the semi-final of the girls' singles before losing 21-13, 21-14 to England's Gauri Shidhaye, who went on to take the title.

In the girls' doubles Jodie Harris and Eilidh McCallister reached the semi-finals before falling to Van Leeuwen and Holly Williams 21-8, 21-16.
