BAR and restaurant group Buzzworks Holdings has made its first move into the east of Scotland, taking on a South Queensferry venue that is part of the redevelopment of the town’s Port Edgar Marina.

The venue is expected to open by the end of the year, creating about 60 jobs.

The marina is operated by Port Edgar Holdings, which took over from City of Edinburgh Council in April 2014. The group said the creation of the restaurant marked a milestone in the development.

Buzzworks – which manages nine venues, including Scotts in Troon and Elliots in Prestwick – now has more than 400 staff and revenue of £15 million.

Kenny Blair, Buzzworks managing director, said: “This is another ambitious step forward in our con- tinued growth strategy as we branch out from the west of Scotland.”

Russell Aitken, managing director at Port Edgar Marina, said: “We are delighted that Buzzworks has chosen to locate its next restaurant at the marina, where diners will be able to enjoy quality food with stunning views of the Forth’s three bridges.

Meanwhile, east and central Scotland operator Attraction Inns has received a £1.05m funding package from Barclays to support acquisitions and future growth.

Attraction Inns, run by Robert and Michelle Orr, operates bars and clubs including Movement, Opium, Pilgrim and Silk in Edinburgh and Dusk in Stirling.
