EDINBURGH West LibDem candidate Christine Jardine has Elvis crooning ‘It’s now or never’ as her mobile ringtone as it was No1 when she was born. It’s also a reminder of being in Rome on her 35th birthday as a BBC TV reporter and hitting the Prosecco after a tough day. “There’s a film somewhere of me standing on Trevi Fountain singing it,” she reveals. BBC archivists, you have your challenge. Find that film!
NICOLA Sturgeon keeps predicting deputy Angus Robertson will see off the Tory threat in Moray. But is her husband, SNP chief executive Peter Murrell, so sure? Unspun hears he’s been organising in-depth phone polls in a dozen seats where the SNP feels vulnerable - and one of them is Moray. Perhaps Angus should be worried after all.
MUCH gnashing and wailing at Richard Lyle’s house, it seems. The SNP MSP thought it would be smart to back his office manager, Jordan Linden, in the last week’s council election in the same Bellshill ward as his daughter, Cllr Marina Lyle. As their names appeared on the ballot alphabetically, the unknown Mr Linden got in while Cllr Lyle got the boot. Thanks, dad!
