A female BBC radio presenter fondled teenage boys while wearing a 'flasher mac' in front of her husband by a local landmark known as Devil's Cave, a court heard.

Tony Wadsworth, 69, and wife Julie, 60, are accused of encouraging seven boys to take part in sexual activity in woods next to a golf course from 1992 to 96.

One of the alleged victims told a court how he was indecently assaulted by Mrs Wadsworth, known on radio as Julie Mayer, in Mancetter Park, near Atherstone, Warks.

He also claims the couple - dubbed 'the Richard and Judy of local radio' - turned up at his home and promised to "make it worth his while" if he met them again.

Giving evidence at Warwick Crown Court, the man, now in his 30s, told how he was 14 when he and his friends first watched them having sex.

He said: "We met them in the woods, in the Outwoods.

"We were playing on Mancetter rec on September 5th 1992.

"We were just there on our bikes messing about, being kids."

The alleged victim told the court that a boy passed him on his bike.

He said: "The boy said there is a man and woman down there and he said that the woman had no knickers on.

"We had never seen anything like it before, we were 14 and there was a woman with no knickers on so we went to have a look.

"We were having a look but trying to make it look like we weren't having a look.

"They (the Wadsworth's) knew we were looking and it was obvious she didn't have any knickers on because she had a split skirt on and you could see.

"They were just laughing and giggling.

"They wanted us to see them, that's how it felt."

The court heard the victim was around six metres away from the couple when he was watching them.

He said: "We were behind the trees and they went up to this one tree and they started touching each other.

"They beckoned us in closer, I think it was the lady, Mrs Wadsworth.

"She had a top on and her coat but she had that lifted up.

"It was daytime on a Saturday afternoon and there were people around walking their dogs.

"When the dog walkers went by they would stop for a minute.

"It is the main park in the village so lots of people are in there.

"Because of the dog walkers Mrs Wadsworth asked if there was anywhere more private.

"We said as a group that the golf club and the Outwoods were nearby and there would be less people there.

"She asked us if we wanted to show them where it is.

"Part of the area (we took them) was called the Devil's Cave, everyone went up there when we were kids.

"We didn't follow them there, that time we went into the trees where people couldn't see us.

"They started touching each other again and they started having sex standing up against the tree.

"We just watched like a group of excited 14-year-olds.

"They said would we want to see them again and they said to come back and meet them next week.

"They said if we came back next week they might let us have a play. That was Mrs Wadsworth.

"We said we would be back.

"We went the following week just me and (another boy).

"She was wearing a long cream coat, like a flasher's mac coat.

"She had stockings and suspenders on and no underwear, this was in the trees near Devil's Cave.

"We went into the trees where we had been before and she said to come in one at a
time.

"(The other boy) was in there a couple of minutes.

"He said 'I'm not doing anything, the bloke has got a camera.'

"He told me to go in there, she (Mrs Wadsworth) wanted me to go in.

"She was sat on a moss bank on her coat, with her white stockings, suspenders and nothing on the top.

"He was stood with his camera around his neck.

"It was a proper camera with a lens.

"I said 'I'm not doing anything while there is a camera there.'

"She told him to go for a walk and she told me to sit down next to her.

"She started touching me and encouraged me to touch her.

"He came back but I didn't realise he came back.

"She asked me if I had a girlfriend and I said yes.

"She asked me if I had done it before and I said I had touched my girlfriend before yes.

"I was still buzzing from it all but the whole camera thing scared me.

"Later on I saw them at the front of my house and I was scared in case my mum had seen them.

"Mrs Wadsworth beckoned me out to speak to her so I went out and crossed the road to them.

"They asked if I was going to meet them again and I said I wasn't because I had a girlfriend but she said if I did she would make it worth my while.

"I thought that meant I would have sex with her but I had decided I wasn't going to go again.

"I said if my mum saw them she would kill them and I would phone the police because I was scared of them being round my house."

"He looked a bit scruffy with what he was wearing at the time.

David Hislop QC, defending Mrs Wadsworth, said: "I would suggest you have your years mixed up.

"I suggest you have got the wrong couple."

The couple, of Broughton Astley, Leics, deny indecent assault and outraging public decency.

Mr Wadsworth also denies ten charges of indecent assault against seven boys aged under 18 while his wife denies 12 charges.
