ABERDEEN-based well technology firm Plexus Holdings has won a contract to supply Maersk Oil with equipment for use on the development of the giant Culzean field in the North Sea. The four year award covers the supply of wellhead equipment and related services. It also provides for the supply of additional exploration wellhead equipment for future appraisal wells in the Culzean area east of Aberdeen, and for a one year extension. The value was not disclosed. The chief executive of Plexus Holdings, Ben van Bilderbeek, noted that the company had been involved in the initial exploration wells on Culzean with Maersk. The field was discovered in 2008.
