The apple has not fallen too far from the tree in Sir Chris Hoy’s household as the eleven-time world champion track cyclist shares an uplifting video clip online of his young son, Callum, following in his father’s footsteps.

The boy, who turns three in October, oozes confidence as he shoots down a grassy slope on a balance bike.

The moment was captured on camera by the beaming six-time Olympic champion, who told his almost 9,000 followers: “Callum learns to ride his balance bike!”

The 41-year-old Edinburgh-born sportsman added in the hashtags: “#speeddemon” and “#wheeeeeeee,” much to the delight of his followers who commended young Callum on his bravery.
