AN exhibition by Andrew Crummy is to be held at the Doubtfire Gallery in Edinburgh during the festivals month. Tapestry Man: A Pandorium of Scottish Curiosities will run from August 5 to August 26.
Crummy is known as a designer of large scale tapestries, including the Great Tapestry of Scotland, but this is his first one man show.
He studied illustration at Duncan of Jordonstone College of Art, followed by an MA in Design at Glasgow School of Art and started his career in London as an illustrator for teh group Everything But The Girl, and with NME, The Observer and other publications.
Since moving back to Scotland in 2000 he helped develop The Prestonpans Mural trail until 2012.
Recently he was the designer and artist for The great Tapestry of Scotland, Scottish Diaspora Tapestry and Battle of Prestonpans Tapestry, which involved over 2000 stitchers.

PABLO Picasso’s Les Soles, on loan from National Galleries of Scotland, will go on display at Georgian mansion Duff House in Banff from today until October 29.
Les Soles, pictured, was inspired by the markets of the seaside town Royan, in southwestern France. It depicts a crab and two fish, said to represent Picasso and two of his mistresses.
Graeme Curran, manager of Duff House, which is operated by Historic Environment Scotland, in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council and the National Galleries of Scotland said: “We’re delighted that Duff House will host an artwork from one of the most iconic artists of the modern era.
“Banff, as a coastal town, seems a fitting location for exhibition of Picasso’s Les Soles, which so vividly draws inspiration from life by the sea."
Entry to view the painting is included in the Duff House admission price, and is free for members.

SIOBHAN Healy has an exhibition at the Glasgow Print Studio from August 4 to September 3. Healy makes work that is concerned with endangered flora and fauna, depicting them as ethereal images, "to suggest their transient and delicate circumstances."
The new show features work relating to Ghost Orchids (Epigogium aphyllum), which had been declared extinct after no sightings for 23 years until, in 2009 a single specimen was discovered near the Welsh Borders.
Healy studied at Edinburgh College of Art, specialising in glass and jewellery, and her Ghost Orchids are created in hot worked glass to emphasise their fragility.
A number of these sculptures exist in prestigious international collections including Harvard University Collection and the Scottish Parliament Art Collection.
Other work relates to the threatened species of butterfly, coral, jellyfish and sea anemones that are currently in danger of extinction in the Galapagos Island ecosystem.
