A young woman has been found dead in a flat in Glasgow, police have confirmed.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Murano Street in the north of the city this week but were unable to save the patient.

The woman was reportedly Italian and media outlets in the country have named her as Debora Rastelli, from Cossato in the province of Biella.

News outlet Today reports she had moved to Glasgow for a year to study English and to save money having recently found work as a healthcare assistant.

Her family has also been notified, according to the site.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At around 6.20pm on Wednesday, August 2, police received a report that the body of a 25-year-old woman was found in a flat in Murano Street.

“Emergency services attended the scene.

“A post mortem is due to be carried out.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.”
