ARNAUD Djoum has put all thoughts about winning a move to one of the big five leagues in Europe on hold to concentrate on helping Hearts pick up results following the departure of Ian Cathro from Tynecastle.

Djoum, the Cameroonian midfielder who has previously plied his trade in Belgium and the Netherlands, admitted at the Confederations Cup in the summer that he was keen to play in England, France, Germany, Italy or Spain.

However, the 28-year-old, who still has two years of his current contract with the Edinburgh club to run, is only concerned with ensuring the managerless Ladbrokes Premiership outfit perform well in the coming weeks.

“Personally, I felt I did well on Saturday,” he said. “I try not to read social media too much. I want to be focused on my football. When I speak about my future I think about other things and it takes my focus off of football. For the moment, I just want to focus on my performance.”

“Now the performances are very important for the club. I don’t think about my future or about anything else other than the football at this moment. It is important for me to think about getting good performances and good results.

“Personally, I have had a great experience here. The supporters think a lot of me. I will try to focus on what happens on the pitch and not my future.”
