FROM a business which uses bread to brew beer to a University of Strathclyde doctor who has developed a blood test to improve the statistics for brain tumour diagnosis and a mobile app that aims to revolutionise participation in sport, today we can announce the finalists for the inaugural Global Game Changers Awards.

The Herald is working in partnership with Innovators Magazine to showcase the very best of innovation and sustainability in Scotland.

The awards are supported by commercial law firm Bond Dickinson, City of Glasgow College and the UN Global Compact Network UK.

John Ralph, head of real estate at Bond Dickinson, said: “Congratulations to all of the finalists for The Global Game Changers Awards. We are proud to be sponsoring the Collaboration for Change category which recognises the power of collaboration to drive innovation forward. The finalists have all had a hugely positive impact on their communities, developing bright and dynamic projects through partnerships with businesses and public sector organisations. In today’s fast-paced business environment, innovation through collaboration has become essential for all businesses to avoid risking being left behind.”

Douglas Morrison, STEM and innovation lead at City of Glasgow College said: “I was impressed by the scope and scale of innovative activity taking place throughout the awards categories. Congratulations to all those who have been shortlisted. Your game changing work positions Scotland firmly on the world stage.”

The awards dinner takes place on Wednesday, September 13 at the Glasgow Science Centre. To book tables please contact Claire Hunter on 0141 302 7319 or visit www.newsquestscotlandevents.com/events/globalgc/
