HMS Queen Elizabeth may not be fully “worked up” but the devastation and relief required in the Caribbean (“Hurricane Irma heads for Florida after rail of death in Caribbean”, The Herald, September 8) is just the sort of situation that the Government claims that she was built for. That being the case, get her out there ASAP with helicopters and all the humanitarian relief that she can provide. It would be more than an excellent work-up for her.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
