CELTIC'S players have been slated by the French press for their performance in Tuesday's Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Brendan Rodgers' side were hammered 5-0 by the Ligue 1 giants in their Group B opener, the heaviest home loss the club has ever suffered in European football.

French newspaper L'Equipe didn't hold back in their assessment of the Scottish champions, giving the Bhoys an average score of 3.2/10 in their player ratings.

Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair won the highest scores by being awarded 4/10, while Stuart Armstrong and Tony Ralston were given just 2.

The rest of the Celtic line-up, including boss Rodgers, were handed a 3/10 rating by the paper.

PSG, meanwhile, weren't rewarded with high scores for their efforts despite the emphatic scoreline.

Unai Emery's side were given an average rating of 6.8, with Adrien Rabiot (8/10) the only player to be given a score of more than six or seven.

The much-discussed front three of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe were all given 7/10 despite every member of the trio finding the net.
