MO Johnston is to auction off a Scottish league title medal he won with Rangers to help save the life of a critically ill teenager.

The football legend, who caused worldwide headlines after crossing the Old Firm divide, is selling the gong from the 1989/90 season to raise funds for an operation for talented Florida-based footballer Matias Cozzi who Johnston has coached.

The 17-year-old suffers from cystic fibrosis and has been in a critical condition since being admitted to hospital earlier this month.

Doctors have told him his only chance of survival is to have a double lung transplant as soon as possible.

The operation will cost up to £37,000.
