SOLDIERS will form part of a ring of steel around Celtic’s away Champions League match against Anderlecht on Wednesday.

The army will join police at the club’s stadium Brussels following the terrorist attack at the airport in that claimed 32 lives in March last year. The Belgian capital has also been involved in various security alerts and some of its residents were linked to the 2015 Paris attacks.

Anderlecht’s spokesman David Steegan said: “We are prepared for just about everything. We will have both police forces working security together. The entire country is on a state of alert and because of terrorist attacks, the army will be present also.”
