LORD Smith of Kelvin was last night awarded Glasgow Chamber of Commerce’s lifetime achievement award at the 20th Glasgow Business Awards.

The event also saw SLG Technology named Royal Bank of Scotland’s most outstanding business of the year.

The company, which was formed in 2008 to supply support functions to businesses within the Scottish Leather Group, was also awarded for its sustainable development.

Fred MacAulay compered the event in the Hilton Glasgow, organised by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce with a total of 16 awards presented in front of 650 guests from the city’s business community.

The Evening Times Award for Glasgow’s favourite business went to Tam Shepherds Trick Shop, the only award voted for by the people of Glasgow.
