Four-time Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah has won Sports Personality of the Year for 2017.
The world 10,000m was presented with the award by his daughter Rhianna via a video link, however when the signal was lost, it was up to sprinter Michael Johnson to end the night with a tribute to the athlete.
The 34-year-old was honoured at the BBC Sports Personality Awards which were held at Liverpool's Echo Arena.
Former Liverpool and Scotland striker Kenny Dalglish announced the award alongside hosts Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan.
Among the attendees were George "Doddie" Weir in his characteristic tartan suit. The former Scotland rugby union player announced earlier this year that has motor neurone disease.
In second place at the awards was Northern Ireland's World Superbikes champion Jonathan Rea, with para-athlete and recent Strictly Come Dancing star Jonnie Peacock coming third.
Other nominees included F1 star Lewis Hamilton, cyclist Chris Froome.
Team of the year went to the England Women's Cricket team, following their following their World Cup victory this summer.
Meanwhile, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill was this year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award.
Also honoured was the Sunderland fan who died in July after a brave fight with neuroblastoma - a rare type of cancer.
Bradley Lowery had captured the hearts of the sporting world and his parents thanked the British public for "helping them get out of bed" as they deal with their son's death.
Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden, 17, took home the Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
