Prayers have been said for the devastated families of the Cameron House fire victims.

Simon Midgley, 32, and Richard Dyson, 38, from north London, died in the fire at the luxury hotel on the shores of Loch Lomond on December 18.

Mr Dyson was a TV producer originally from Wetherby in Yorkshire. Mr Midgley was a PR consultant and freelance journalist at the London Evening Standard.

The victims of the tragedy were remembered at morning worship at Luss Parish Church on Christmas Eve, when two members of staff from Cameron House Hotel lit a candle.

The Rev Ian Miller said the hearts of all the congregation went out to the bereaved families and those traumatised by the tragedy.

He told worshippers the actions of staff, emergency services and businesses and residents in the area showed “a community at its very best”.
