PLANS have been unveiled to create three new homes on a farm north of Cardross by converting existing barn buildings.

Applicant Christine Morrow is seeking planning permission from Argyll and Bute Council to carry out the work at Asker Farm, off Carman Road.

The premises are currently used by Mrs Morrow as an equestrian business, with stables and an arena.

A design statement by Mrs Harrison's agent, Rosneath-based architect Gordon Harrison, says that the original farm buildings and barns are in poor repair and require constant work to keep them wind and watertight.

Mr Harrison says: “Although our client runs a successful equestrian business and wishes to continue developing the business, the constant repairs to these buildings are a drain on resources and their condition renders them not fit for purpose.

“The key principles of the design are to create attractive rural family homes using the existing structures while maintaining their subservient appearance behind the main farm house, respecting the character of the existing farm development pattern.”
