Helensburgh’s Gordon Reid is through to the men's singles semi-final at the Sydney Wheelchair Tennis Open.
With the Australian Open just two weeks away, the Burgh wheelchair tennis ace is looking for a strong showing in the warm-up event for the first Grand Slam of the year.
Reid started his singles title bid with a 6-0, 6-1 second round win over Japan’s Yoshinobu Fujimoto after a first-round bye.
And he booked his place in the last four with a 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Nicolas Peifer in the quarter-finals, ending the Frenchman's eight-match winning streak.
Reid will take on his doubles partner Alfie Hewett for a place in the final against either Shingo Kunieda or Takashi Sanada.
Kunieda ended the title challenge of world number one Gustavo Fernandez in the last eight, while Hewett secured his semi-final spot with a 6-4, 6-3 win over sixth seed and Wimbledon champion Stefan Olsson.
Meanwhile, Reid and his doubles partner Alfie Hewett take on long-time rivals Nicolas Peifer and Stephane Houdet in the men's doubles final in Sydney on Friday.
The British pair saw off third seeds Joachim Gerard and Stefan Olsson 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-finals after defeating Japanese duo Daisuke Arai and Yoshinobu Fujimoto 6-2, 6-1 in their opening tie.
