WES FODERINGHAM (6) Made a couple of early stops but was well beaten as McGinn fired Hibernian in front. Had little to do after the break before Maclaren got the better of him from the spot to clinch the win.

JAMES TAVERNIER (5) Was given a tough time by the talented Hibs attack but tried to play his part in the final third. Penalised for a foul on Allan just seconds after Rangers got themselves back into the game and mistake proved costly.

RUSSELL MARTIN (6) Beaten too easily on a couple of occasions and struggled at times. Is still getting up to speed at Ibrox and there should be more to come from the experienced stopper.

DAVID BATES (6) Is the more physical of the Gers central defenders and clears his lines when required. Distribution needs to improve but not a bad showing from the 21-year-old.

DECLAN JOHN (6) Another who was troubled on a regular basis in the first half as Hibs impressed in the final third. Looked dangerous going the other way, though, and came close with a drive at 1-0.

JASON HOLT (6) Can’t be faulted for effort but faced a tough task against a solid Hibs midfield. Never shirked his responsibility, though, as he looked to inspire his side.

SEAN GOSS (6) Gave Rangers brief hope as he curled a superb free-kick into the corner and his dead ball ability could be key for Murty’s side this term. Couldn’t really dictate play from deep as required, however.

DANIEL CANDEIAS (5) The Portuguese has his fair share of assists already this term but didn’t pose Hibs enough problems here. Not his finest afternoon and was rightly replaced as Rangers chased the game.

JOSH WINDASS (5) Spurned a glorious chance in the first half when clear through with only Marciano to beat. Wasn’t involved enough as a creative force thereafter and was perhaps fortunate not to see Docherty take his place.

JAMIE MURPHY (6) Looked a threat at times and saw a lot of the ball in both wide and central areas. Couldn’t make it count, though, and he should have done better with a first half chance.

ALFREDO MORELOS (6) Has been making headlines for very different reasons this week and couldn’t do what he does best at Ibrox. Second half goal was chopped off on a frustrating afternoon.

Substitutes:

GREG DOCHERTY (for Holt) (4) Handed his Ibrox debut following his move from Hamilton. Keen to get involved but his big day ended in disappointment.

JASON CUMMINGS (for Candeias) (4) Given another rousing reception from the Ibrox crowd but had few chances to hurt his former side as Hibernian had the last laugh.
