WATCH: Theresa May announces military action against Syria
The Prime Minister insisted the bombing raid in Syria was "not about intervening in a civil war" or "regime change" but in response to the chemical strike.
She added it would be a "limited and targeted" strike that does not "escalate tensions" further and aims to prevent civilian casualties.
But she said the action was about "deterring the Syrian Regime" and others who "believe they can use chemical weapons with impunity".
