DEMAND for flexible working space in Newton Mearns has led the local council to develop a £3.8 million business facility.

The Greenlaw Business Centre, funded by the Glasgow City Region Deal, will provide modern office accommodation for small firms and start-ups in up to 38 small suites.

The facility, which is expected to be completed early next year, is being built next to the existing Greenlaw retail and commercial centre.

Tony Buchanan, leader of East Renfrewshire Council, said: “Greenlaw Business Centre will help to meet a growing demand for flexible business space in the area, supporting start-ups and existing small businesses to grow and create new jobs.”
