The 2019 Pirelli Calendar photography has been released today, featuring celebrities including supermodel Gigi Hadid and fashion Designer Alexander Wang.

Shot by Scottish photographer Albert Watson, one of the most influential photographers of all time, famed for his unique and powerful style, characterised by a technical virtuosity which is hard to equal.

Albert Watson is responsible for some of the most well-recognised photographs taken of world icons, and his work has been featured on over 100 covers of Vogue worldwide.

The Scottish photographer began his career in the 1970s, and some of his most famous shots include a picture of Alfred Hitchcock holding a plucked goose, a nude portrait of Kate Moss on her 19th birthday, and the portrait of Steve Jobs that was used on the cover his biography.

He has also won a Grammy Award for his cover art, published a number of books, and been awarded an OBE in 2015 for his services to photography.

The publication of the Pirelli Calendar is highly anticipated each year, having begun in 1963. Last year’s edition by Tim Walker featured an all-black cast of sitters, including Adwoa Aboah, Naomi Campbell, RuPaul and Whoopi Goldberg.
