DONALD Trump has claimed he enjoyed “good chemistry” with the Queen.

The US President said his meeting with the monarch at Windsor castle last month went “fantastically well”, with a tea scheduled for 15 minutes lasting an hour.

He also said his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, bonded with their 92-year-old host.

However he struggled to remember the country he had visited, giving it several names.

He said: “I have great respect for the UK, United Kingdom, great respect. People call it Britain, they call it Great Britain, they call it, they used to call it England, different parts."

Mr Trump made the remarks at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Thursday night in which he also stepped up his attacks on the media for its coverage of him.

He said he arrived 15 minutes early for the 5pm meeting with the Queen July 13, but didn’t mind waiting because “Hey, it's the Queen, right?”

He went on: “So I then go up and meet the Queen and she is fantastic. We then go up and we have tea.

“And I didn't know this, it was supposed to last for 15 minutes, but it lasted for like an hour because we got along. We got along.

"And she liked our First Lady and our First Lady liked her and I won't talk about conversation because you're not supposed to ... but we got along fantastically well.

"And the time went by, you know like sometimes when you like somebody you get along - good chemistry - the time goes by."

He said the visit was “beautiful” but the media wrongly claimed he arrived late at Windsor castle, despite his arriving exactly on time being broadcast live around the globe.

He said: “They can make anything bad because they are the fake, fake, disgusting news."
