A 19-year-old woman is in a serious condition  after becoming ill at the Coloursfest dance music festival at Braehead. near Glasgow.

She was one of three who were rushed to hospital for treatment at the event at Braehead Arena.

The 19-year-old woman was in a critical conditon when she was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

Officers say she is now in a serious but stable condition.

A 21-year-old man being treated at the same hospital and is reported to be "stable", while a 31-year-old woman being treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Police have said an investigation into how the three became ill at the event, which attracts thousands of music fans, is "ongoing" 

The three incidents are not thought to be directly connected.

Coloursfest, which is in its 17th year, featured acts including Showtek, Ben Nicky and Brennan Heart.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "An investigation is under way.

"We can confirm these were separate incidents and are not linked."
