Chessington 216-9

Old Mid Whitgiftians 153-8

Chessington have had a frustrating couple of weeks having to settle for a winning draw at home to Normandy with the visitors hanging on with eight wickets down.

Then this week's game against second bottom Old Mid Whitgiftians was abandoned due to rain with Chessington comfortably placed at 159 for 3.

Chessington again lost the toss and were put in by the Normandy skipper. A steady start allowed Chessington to accelerate through their innings to declare at 216-9 after 55 overs. Normandy certainly looked up to the challenge until their Trinidadian player was caught on the boundary by Andy Fletcher after hitting three huge sixes. Once he had gone Chessington were firmly on top and the visitors shut up shop, ending up with 153 for 8.
