A further 10 people were detained by police in a major operation yesterday which targeted alleged drug dealers in Scotland's capital.

Cocaine, heroin and a cannabis factory were un-covered in Wester Hailes, and £30,000 cash and a quantity of heroin were seized from a Leith property.

More than 100 officers launched raids in the Edinburgh area on Wednesday, arresting 13 people, following intelligence gathered as part of Operation Amend.

Detective Superintendent Gareth Blair said: "Operation Amend has already had a significant impact on the activities of those involved in the drugs trade in Edinburgh."
