11-year sentence for murder bid

A LORRY driver who orchestrated an assault that left a man in a coma for 12 months then needing round-the-clock care has been jailed for 11 years.

Martin Friars, 35, led a gang that cornered 24-year-old Dylan McCausland before stamping and kicking him as he lay helpless on the ground. He was found guilty of attempted murder at the High Court in Glasgow.
