SEVENTEEN people were arrested during Celtic's Europa League game against Dinamo Zagreb, police have said.

The arrests were for alleged alcohol and disorder related offences including the possession of flares and CS-type spray.

Four people were arrested in the stadium in Glasgow while the rest were arrested outside the ground and in the city centre, police said.

Celtic won the match against the Croatian side 1-0 on Thursday night.

A club spokesman said yesterday: "We would like to thank our fans for the magnificent support they gave the club at last night's match."A significant operation was carried out last night together with Police Scotland and Celtic safety stewards to prevent Dinamo Zagreb fans without official tickets entering the stadium.

"We thank our supporters for their assistance in this operation."
