Accused in court over Scot's death

A MAN appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday accused of killing a Scot who was sleeping rough at London's Marble Arch.

Ghodratollah Barani, 26, of no fixed address, is alleged to have murdered Mark Morrison, 46, who was originally from Glasgow.

Mr Morrison, who is believed to have been sleeping rough in London for some time, was found strangled in the early hours of June 21.

His body was discovered by police next to a bench under one of the arches at around 3.30am.

Barani was yesterday remanded in custody to a hearing on October 12. No bail application was made.
