Anger over increase in repeat sex offenders

The number of repeat sex offenders in Scotland has increased every year for the last three years, prompting accusations that Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill is not doing enough to combat sex crime.

Labour justice spokesman James Kelly has uncovered figures showing there were 110 offences last year, an increase on 31 on the previous year and 47 more than the figures for 2007-8. The total has grown from just five breaches in 2000-01.
