A teenager has been arrested in connection with a racist attack on a Polish man.

The victim, 41, was walking home via Niddrie House Square, Edinburgh, on Sunday afternoon when a group of youths allegedly shouted racist remarks and threw stones at him.

He was allegedly punched in the face and needed hospital treatment for a number of cuts and grazes.

Police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old boy over the incident.

Sergeant Kevin Smith said: "Officers are following a positive line of inquiry to trace the others involved."

A report is to be sent to the Scottish Children's Reporter.
