A BEST-SELLING author is likely to be called to give evidence against her former partner amid claims he conducted a campaign of harassment against her.

Janice Galloway, 59, was allegedly subjected to a five-year crusade of threats and abuse by Graeme McNaught.

Classical pianist Mr McNaught, 55, is accused of repeatedly visiting Miss Galloway at the home she shares with husband Jonathan May and friend Alison Cameron in Uddingston, Lanarkshire, and shouting and swearing outside it.

He also faces allegations he tried to hand-deliver a letter to her at home and repeatedly contacted her agent and husband in October 2014.

McNaught, a world-renowned concert pianist and recording artist, is set to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court next month where he will face a total of eight charges.

He could face trial later that month.

It has now emerged that Miss Galloway could be called to testify against her former partner. Her husband Jonathan, son James, and friend Alison Cameron could also be called as witnesses.

Miss Galloway was the first Scottish Arts Council writer-in-residence to Barlinnie, Cornton Vale, Dungavel and Polmont prisons and has written and presented series for BBC Radio Scotland.

She also published the second volume in her acclaimed memoirs, All Made Up, describing her time at Glasgow University.
