A MAN who pretended to be a Scottish aristocrat is facing jail in the US after he admitted carrying out a massive benefit fraud.

Colin Chisholm, 62, and his wife Andrea, 54, called themselves Lord and Lady Chisholm and lived in a lakefront home, owned a £700,000 yacht and ran a kennel raising Cavalier King Charles spaniels. They claimed more than £100,000 in welfare payments despite having millions of dollars in undeclared funds.

Chisholm has now admitted the fraud and has agreed to a 21-month prison sentence. US prosecutors called the scam a "con worthy of 'The Sting'."
