Benefits cheat claimed £74,000

A BENEFITS cheat who pocketed £74,000 in taxpayers' cash by claiming his wife had left him for another man has been jailed for two years.

Sydney Campbell, 62, of Motherwell, North Lanarkshire made £73,278.21 in fraudulent claims while telling benefits bosses his wife had not lived with him for nine years.
