Businessmen charged with court absence

BUSINESSMAN Michael Voudouri appeared in court charged with failing to turn up as a witness.

The 46-year-old is alleged to have been advised to attend the High Court in Glasgow on November 23, 2012 to give evidence.

He is accused of failing to attend, "fleeing" to avoid being a witness and attempting to pervert the course of justice. Voudouri, from Bridge of Allan, Stirling, also faces a charge of failing to appear at a court date on November 30, 2012.

He appeared in private yesterday at Glasgow Sheriff Court,made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

Voudouri will appear next week for a full committal hearing.
