A MAN is to stand trial accused of claiming incapacity benefit while carrying the bags of golfers at one of Scotland's top courses.

Robert Lothian, 49, of Cellardyke, Fife, is alleged to have claimed the disability benefit over a 16-month period between April 6, 2010 and August 20, 2011 while he was working as a caddie at Kingsbarns Golf Links in Fife.

The course is one of the most highly rated in Scotland and the world.

Caddies at Kingsbarns charge £45 per round, plus tip, per golfer.
