Sheriff James Spy was told that DJ Ms McGuire - who was appearing under her married name of Susan Mitchell - was too unwell to attend the pre-trial hearing or her trial which was scheduled for next month.
Her GP has said that she is not fit to attend court.
Ms McGuire, 44, is accused of assaulting Derek Mitchell in their home in Eaglesham, on December 8, 2012.
It is alleged she struck him and knocked him down a flight of stairs, repeatedly punched, kicked and stamped on his head and body and repeatedly struck him with various household articles.
Mother-of-four Ms McGuire also faces a charge of placing her husband in a state of fear and alarm by repeatedly shouting at him in a threatening and aggressive manner, pursuing him up a fight of stairs and forcing open a bathroom door.
The Clyde 1 radio presenter was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday but was not present when the case called. Her lawyer Michael Gallen told Sheriff Spy: "She is not fit to attend today nor is she fit to proceed with the trial in September."
The case has been continued until next week for investigations to be made to see when Ms McGuire will be fit to stand trial.
