A FEUDING millionaire is demanding his rival pay his legal costs – after his lawyer missed court because her train broke down.

Malcolm Howat is locked in a bitter battle with his neighbour in one of the most exclusive streets in Scotland, dubbed Millionaires' Row.

Now he wants James McCaig to pay his legal costs after his solicitor was unable to appear in court.

Mr Howat, 65, has won an interim interdict after a series of clashes in the prestigious development at Caledonian Crescent, overlooking Gleneagles.

Mr McCaig lodged a counter-claim and the case called this week to allow Mr Howat's team the opportunity to answer that claim. But the court was told it could not be heard because of the train problem.

The sheriff said he would postpone his decision on expenses to a later date when the case is recalled.

Farmer Mr McCaig was banned from entering Mr Howat's property after claims of threats and abuse.
