Developer Stephen Donald, 56, from Forfar, was jailed for five years in 2010, after being linked to a £24,000 heroin deal. The Crown immediately began moves to strip him of his dirty money, claiming Donald's criminal activities had netted him £4m. But at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday (Mon) judge Lord Brailsford was told the case was at an end.
Advocate depute Barry Divers said it was the result of on-going discussion between forensic accountants for the Crown and those briefed by Donald's legal team. Defence QC Mark Stewart simply confirmed he had no objection to the latest move which follows years of haggling.
