Dashcam evidence police call

CYCLISTS and motorists who have cameras on their bikes are being urged to hand over their footage to police investigating an attempted robbery.

A man is thought to have parked a silver car on the A705 in Blackburn, West Lothian before trying to steal money from the nearby Murco Garage. Police said cyclists and bikers may have had to drive round the vehicle and appealed for any using a "dashcam" or "action camera" to offer footage to detectives.

Detective Inspector Dave Pinkney, who is leading the investigation, said: "I would appeal to those drivers or cyclists who passed down this road in either direction around 9.15pm and who have dashboard or handlebar cameras fitted to contact us."

The suspect is thought to be white, of medium build, and was wearing a dark blue clothes with a hat and scarf covering the lower part of his face.
