A WOMAN who killed an OAP in a car crash is facing jail after she admitted ploughing into him when distracted by loud music in her motor.

Anna McCallum, 23, smashed into John Gordon Sangster on Baltic Street, Montrose, as the 79-year-old stepped out to cross the road on December 1, 2012.

Forfar Sheriff Court heard how a police examination found McCallum had not braked heavily.

Investigators decided she had been "momentarily distracted" by loud music playing in her vehicle.

McCallum, of Harbour Place, Johnshaven, Aberdeenshire, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving.

Sheriff Gregor Murray deferred sentence until next month.
