Irene Fraser, 52, drove her Mini Cooper while over two and a half times the legal drink drive limit. On the way back from her doctor's appointment she drove the car into a ditch in Aberdeenshire. She was found by paramedics having been badly shaken up in the crash.
Police attending noticed alcohol on her breath.
Yesterday Fraser appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where she admitted driving with 92 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 ml of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg.
Defence agent Gregor Kelly said Fraser, of Alford, had drink and mental health issues and was off work at the time of the offence.
Sheriff Mungo Bovey disqualified Fraser from the roads for two years and fined her £400.
