A former police officer is facing criminal charges for allegedly selling details of separate cases involving John Terry's mother and Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood to The Sun newspaper.
Alan Tierney, who was with Surrey Police, was allegedly paid £1750 for giving details of the two cases to the tabloid, will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on a date to be fixed.
The two charges allege misconduct between March 26 and April 3, 2009. and between December 2 and 7, 2009.
