A FORMER police officer who set up hidden cameras in the toilets at two care homes so he could film staff using the bathroom has been given a community payback order.

Douglas Archibald - who served with Fife Constabulary until he left the force in 2008 - went on to work as a handyman for Fife Council, allowing him access to the homes to set up his scheme.

Archibald,59, from Dalgety Bay, pleaded guilty.

His activity was discovered when a cleaner at one care home in Glenrothes spotted a camera stuck to the back of a toilet in the staff area.
