A Scottish Premiership footballer has denied allegations he kicked a policeman and stopped five other officers carrying out their duties.
Dundee star Paul McGowan, 27, faces claims he obstructed officers from Police Scotland during a fracas in November last year.
The incident was alleged to have happened less than 24 hours after he had played in Dundee's 2-1 defeat to Celtic at Celtic Park on November 22.
He was arrested in the early hours of November 23 after an alleged incident at a house in Airdrie, Lanarkshire.
The midfielder was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing and hindering a total of five police constables as they tried to do their job and struggling violently with them.
He faces a further claim of police assault that was said to have taken place at Coatbridge police office where it was alleged he kicked a male PC on the body.
Yesterday McGowan appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court where he pled not guilty to the charges and had his bail continued.
Sheriff Petra Collins agreed to continue the hearings to a new date on March 19 after hearing McGowan's legal team had requested more time to prepare their case including seeking new witnesses to the alleged incident.
McGowan, of Airdrie, declined to comment and could face trial on March 26.
Midfielder McGowan has played for a number of senior Scottish clubs including Celtic, Hamilton, Morton and he joined Dundee last summer from St Mirren.
Dundee FC refused to comment.
