Husband in court accused of murder

A MAN is to stand trial charged with the murder of his ex-wife.

Ahmad Yazdanparast, 61, is accused of killing Ahdieh Khayatzadeh, 46, at Venus Hair and Beauty, Stirling, last October 12. He is alleged to have poured petrol or a similar flammable substance over her head and body and set fire to her. At a hearing at the High Court, Glasgow, his lawyers entered a special defence of self defence. Trial was set for May 20.
