THE estranged husband of a woman who was killed in a blaze at her hair salon has been fully committed, charged with her murder.

Ahmad Yazdanparast, 61, made a second appearance on petition at Stirling Sheriff Court, accused of murdering his wife Ahdieh Yazdanparast, also known as Ahdie Khayatzadeh, on Saturday October 12.

Mrs Yazdanparast 46, died in hospital from injuries she sustained in the blaze at the Venus Hair & Beauty Salon in Stirling that morning.

Yazdanparast, a takeaway food shop proprietor, from Stirling, appeared in private before Sheriff William Gilchrist, and continued to make neither plea nor declaration.

After the brief hearing, depute fiscal Ann Orr said that Yazdanparast was fully committed and remanded in custody.

Under Scots law, accused persons appearing for the first time on so-called "solemn procedure", the method reserved for more serious allegations, appear in private.

Mrs Yazdanparast is survived by her children, twins, Glara and Gloria, 20 and son, Reza, 12.
